Winter finally hit the ranch. We got a little snow and it was c-o-l-d! Well, ok, not that cold, but when the temps have been hovering near 50 degrees, anything below 30 degrees is cold!

The above photos were taken in the morning and by noon it had all melted and the sun came out. The weather has been whacky here in our parts. Not a typical Montana winter for sure. I am not complaining mind you, but it does make me concerned for fire season. I haven't even gone skiing yet!!! Everything is upside down!
We have a new addition to the ranch. Last weekend MacGyver and I drove over 6 hrs roundtrip to pick up: (insert drumroll)

Meet Maisy!!!! She is our 6 month old burro/donkey. She is the cutest thing ever! Her ears, oh my goodness, her ears are the best!

Trying to talk a selfie with a curious donkey is a bit of a challenge. Which is evident in the following photographs.

She is currently hanging out with the goats. The horses are terrified of her! Which cracks me up. I think it might be because Maisy is not a quiet donkey. She brays quite a bit. She did just wean from her mom and was moved to a new place and everything is quite different. I would probably bray too! She seems to be settling in and the noise level is leveling off.
Why a donkey? Well, my sister asked me the same question. I simply replied, " Because I could?" LOL ! Why not? We are little bit nuts here on the Cedar J. Which is apparently quite evident!
In other news. MacGyver and I are going to be adding a new ranch hand in June!!!! We are going to be Grandma and Grandpa!!! Our oldest ranch hand and her hubby are expecting our first grandchild in June. Baby Boy will be joining the fam! We are so excited! I think this warrants me buying a pony for the little guy!

Stay warm and go hug a horse. You will definitely feel better as you wait for Spring!
That's all for now!
